We The Wild
Posted on July 3, 2014
We get introduced to a lot of new music here at Beat2aChord but this week’s favourite new discovery has to be this next band! We The Wild are duo Ant West and Casey Roarty, who have been writing and playing music together since they met at school aged 15, however it wasn’t until the start of 2013 that they began writing the music that would become We The Wild. Even though the band has only been in existence for a year, they’re already creating hype as a ‘one to watch’ and with a new release out soon we’re sure their popularity is only going to grow and grow.
Not fazed by a bit of hard work their debut EP ‘Vol I’ was entirely self-written and produced from their home studio, and featured the acclaimed ‘You Lost My Mind’ and ‘Body Electric (Blue)’. The tracks gained early support at BBC Radio 1 and XFM, and saw them likened to the unique alt sounds of bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Everything Everything, Black Keys and Alt-J. Recent live dates have included a support tour with Dan Croll, as well as shows at The Great Escape and Live at Leeds.
Their new release, the follow-up ‘Vol. II’, is a progression in both songwriting and production for the band. The lead single ‘Trampoline’ is a fantastic hook-heavy experimental pop track, packed with smooth beats, rich synth and bass lines, and all fused together with seamless production. It’s a surefire dance floor hit and another promising step forward for the duo.
Check out the track ‘Trampoline’ below – hope you like!
