Clean Cut Kid – ‘Runaway’

Clean Cut Kid press shot 2

Liverpool quartet Clean Cut Kid are back with a brand new single, ‘Runaway’ – the follow-up to their indelible debut ‘Vitamin C’.

Self-produced ‘Runaway’ is a thumping four-minute anthem with one of the choruses of the summer at its centre. The blending of electronics with the band’s rockier sound creates a shimmering, feel-good indie-pop track, complete with catchy hooks and heart-melting vocal harmonies. Like ‘Vitamin C’, it is the product of countless days and nights spent at the band’s practice space in Liverpool. It’s not a song built to be held by four walls: Clean Cut Kid sure do find that hard balance between creating music that is both intimate and euphoric.

The four-piece appeared at a number of festivals over the summer including Latitude, Secret Garden Party and Somersault. They also headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds. They will now support Shura at Brixton Electric in September before embarking on a short UK tour including Brixton Academy with Circa Waves in October, and completing Shura’s regional dates in December.
