Garage-psych outfit Chaika have announced the upcoming release of their second single ‘The Mirror’. The track unveils a more aggressive side to the band with filthy riffs, dreamy vocals and punishing shoegaze vibes providing a welcome sign of things to come ahead of their highly anticipated Beacons festival performance in mid-October.
Formed in late 2014, the Leeds four-piece are still very much in their early stages and have already been compared to acts such as Wooden Ships and Hookworms. The band has also quickly developed a reputation for intense live performances following support slots for the likes of Ought, Froth, and Autobahn.
‘The Mirror’ was recorded with Leeds producer Matt Peel (Eagulls, Pulled Apart By Horses, Autobahn) earlier this year and will be self-released in the form of two unique prints by artist Ollie Skully with an accompanied corresponding digital download code. These prints will be available at their upcoming gigs and through their website from 9th October onwards.
Along with their Beacons Metro gig at Headrow House on 16th October, the quartet will be playing The Castle Hotel, Manchester on 9th October and The Polar Bear, Hull on 20th October.
